Plants on the Premises

Gardening is a priority for us. One of our goals is to create an environment that attracts butterflies (hence the name “Le Papillon”) as well as hummingbirds and songbirds. Below are the plants on the premises.

  • Trees Crepe myrtles, cypress, Little Gem magnolia, Japanese magnolia (tulip tree), oleander, sweet olive, bay leaf, and Norfolk pine;
  • Palms Palmettos, sago palms, and cardboard palm;
  • Fruit trees Key Lime, Meyer Lemon, tangerine, and banana plants;
  • Shrubs Cast iron plant (aspidistra), gardenia, hibiscus, ginger, bird of paradise, elephant ears, plumbago, peonies, butterfly bushes, azaleas, and hydrangeas;
  • Vines Climbing roses, wisteria, morning glory, jasmine, trumpet vines, honeysuckle, pyracantha, and bouganvilla;
  • A variety of lilies, ferns, monkey grass (liriope) and iris, including native species such as Louisiana creeping iris.
  • And a few we can't identify.
